D16Z6 Head On A D15B7 Will it work.
Good news I think I just went to my uncles junk yard and he has a D16z6 engine in a car that was rear ended. I am taking the head he said I can have it. Can I put that head on this motor? Does anyone know of a write up for that swap and do I have to have the ecu? and do I have to wire anything? and do I have to change the tranny?
Thanks
Thanks
Is there just a motor that I can swap that would just be plug and play. One that doesnt require wire modification? And that I can use my tranny in. I dont care about switching the ecu as long as that is plug and play to. I dont want to have to rewire the whole car.
Dude, I know you're worried about the wiring on a hybrid, but you need to just buckle down and research it. People swap motors every day and they work. Just learn about what harness to use and use the whole motor. It's a WHOLE lot more work to do a head swap and get everything right than it would be for you to just use the whole motor, get the right harness and use the correct ECU.

If I was you I'll stick to the B7 and swap the head only. I have a hybrid and I didn't regret losing the Z6 block. I'll let you know why:
The B7 with the Z6 head will increase the compression, pistons are high, Z6 pistons are low. Because I'm NA, that gives me more torque on the wheels. I used the P28 ECU and ran only two wires: VTEC solenoid and Oil pressure, don't needed to re-wire the whole car. If you do the swap, the cost of it will be no more than $300 in gaskets, timing belt, sparks, water pump and other stuff you will need.
Also another reason to stay with your block is that you know what you got under the hood. The other engine, is in good shape? If you need more info regarding the swap I'll more than glad to help you...

Don't bother with a D15. Go ahead and spend the $ to do a swap...it'll be better in the long run. A z6 is a very capapble motor!
I have a nearly complete Z6 swap I could sell you for cheap and you could play around with it.
It needs a rebuild though :/
