Hey,

Happy Christmas all!!

The stock radio-cassette in my Sol seems to work fine but for one problem, it doesn’t light up. So I can’t see the LCD screen or the buttons at night.
Anybody want to buy it?
And do you guys have suggestion for an inexpensive CD-receiver I can get?
Do most “out of the box” CD-receivers fit in the Sol?

Any out of the box reciever that fits your din size will work in a sol. All you have to worry about is wiring it up correctly, which is easily done with splicing wires, etc. I have a Kenwood mp3 reciever. I love it. I suggest going to crutchfield:

Go to Crutchfield to find the specs and the model you want to buy, then go on eBay to buy it. Only on rare occasion will Crutchfield offer a worth-buying price.

that's exactly what I did, because my first head unit was also a Kenwood, and when I put the mp3 reciever in, I stayed with Kenwood. The wiring was all the same and all I had to do was plug it in. However, if you're going from a stock head unit to aftermarket, you WILL need to wire it up properly. If you do not get the unit from Crutchfield, at least call them and tell that what unit you have, and what car you're putting it into. They will send you EVERYTHING you need to do it CORRECTLY.

Thanks,

I went to ebay, thinking of getting a Pioneer DEH-1400…

It comes with the plastic trim and the wire harness, isn’t that all I need?
It's an older model so they won’t say at Crutchfield if it fits the Sol or not, but the newer version fits, so I guess this one will too…
I thought the installation is straightforward, not so?

They also have Honda receiver installation kits at Best Buy, what about those?

just make sure it's our din size, and it'll go in.

Hate to segway here, but this reminds me, where can I buy the Eclipse Commander Advance. I want an Eclipse deck, but the website doesn't show where to buy any of it.
