Swapping the racks is easy, but you do need to use the GS-R rear engine subframe. Basically the CX non-PS rack is a lot skinnier than a PS rack, so the subframe is designed to hold that tight. I doubt a GS-R rack would fit (if you can't visualize it, I can post pics, but I have to get onto another computer). I swapped a GS-R rack onto my '92 CX but without the power assist stuff. A little more effort than the CX rack but might tighter turning radius and a lot less turns lock to lock.
I'm assuming you swap over all the PS stuff and make it work, but it's probably going to be a hassle finding all the hardlines intact. My rack and swap (got each at seperate times and from seperate cars) had part of the hardlines still attached but cut somewhere, I'm guessing it's just a lot easier to remove that way and nobody usually uses the lines.
