ok i am going to be buying a short shifter, and a strut bar for my civic in the next couple days. I am planning on getting them both off of ebay. Strut bar $46 shipped, and short shifter $24 shipped. Now i figure, a short shifter is a peice of billey aluminum, and a strut bar is a peice of stainless steel, so is there ANY point in getting like a DC Sport strut, or a Skunk 2 shifter?? i dont think there is, might as well save money. Is this statement rational??

 

Yeah With the short shifter there is not diffrence AT ALL ! Now with the strut bar it is stainless steal but I don't know if the cheaper one is flexable . Do you understand that about the strut bar ?

 

yeah, perfectly, but the DC strut bars, are twice as thin as the one im looking at, and have the DC logo cut out, wouldnt that make it more flexible?

 

I would say so ! But hey you never know with everything these companys come out with a hair might be better then that bar on ebay ! But if I where you I would get it . Save yourself a shit load of $$$$$$

a stock gsr/itr strut is more superior then a 30 dollar ebay bar that pivots. a quality skunk2 ss is less prone to snappin off from shiftin then a 20 dollar ebay special. u make the call. spend a bit more and have some good quality.

actually the billet aluminum cheap shoft shifters are CHEAP literaly.
they will break over time due to the fact they are usually thin walled shifters and by the heat of the exhaust heating and coooling the shifter, it will eventually snap
get a nice B&M, DC or skunk 2 shifter that is usually constructed with thick steel or aluminum
