List the problems with your Sol!
1.) Random targa top noises (going to be addressed soon using a kit listed in a technical service bulletin issued by Honda about the noisy roof.)
2.) The passenger seat makes a rapid knocking sound when driving over big bumps in the road. It'll make the exact same noise if I firmly (but not very hard) punch the headrest. Someone mentioned taking out the headrest and wrapping some tape around the 2 metal rod thingys connected to it, then putting it back in. The tape, he said, would cushion the rods. So I guess it must be those 2 metal rods that make the noise. (?)
3.) Passenger side door can't be unlocked on the outside with a key. (Will be replacing entire passenger side door handle soon.)
4.) No factory-installed remote trunk release, no passenger side airbag, no ABS, no low fuel light, and no rear sway bar. (Going to install factory remote trunk release in the very near future. As for low fuel light, I will also eventually get to that, as well as add a rear swaybar. I might even eventually put in the passenger side airbag and ABS.)
5.) Aluminum shift forks. (Gonna be replaced when I get a 95 B16A3 engine swap.)
6.) Bent/broken power antennae.
7.) No factory-installed power door locks (Going to install these sometime in the future.)
8.) R-12 refrigerant. (Not a big deal, but not as easy to find stuff to recharge it with.)
9.) Rubber molding that surrounds both front headlights is coming off. (I will soon be glueing these back on though.)
10.) One of my stock 14'' Del Sol aluminum wheels ('93 version), is scratched up pretty bad from having a chisel being taken to it in order to removed a stripped lug. (No biggy, since no one can see the scratches since they're covered up by the center cap, plus I plan to eventually purchase aftermarket wheels and tires anyway.)
11.) Slightly bent driver side aux. light bracket.
12.) D16 (instead of B16.)
13.) Hole in driver side seat. (I plan to replace both seats with the '96+ Del Sol seats.)
14.) Faded paint on spoiler and exterior B-pillars.
15.) Long, thin scratch on passenger side of car where someone keyed it.
16.) Missing the ashtray cover. (Going to buy a new one soon.)
17.) Ashtray bulb and 1 gauge cluster bulb are burnt out. (Going to replace with factory replacement bulbs soon.)
18.) Broken hood prop grommet and broken washer nozzle hose holder (the grey-colored plastic thing that's located on the underside of your hood that holds the washer nozzle hose.)
19.) No label on the fuse box cover in the engine compartment. (I plan to soon get one and put it on there.)
20.) Faded shift knob. (Going to replace eventually.)
21.) Minor (and a few major) scratches on various interior panels.
22.) Missing factory-issued tool kit.
23.) USDM sun visors.
That's all that I can think of off the top of my head for now. Anyone wanna help me out on some of my Del Sol's problems? To me, it's the little things that matter, hence why I listed some seemingly dumb "problems." (Ex. no label on fuse box cover.) But I wanna get most, if not all, of these problems addressed and out of the way before I begin adding mods to my Del Sol.

The trunk fix is too too easy: at either rear corner of the trunklid, theres a rubber bumper that you can raise and lower by twisting (they're found under the hoods of many cars as well). Turn 'em out (counterclockwise?) about half a turn and your trunk will pop just fine. Over time they'll dial back in and you get to do it again.
Problems?
1. Alternator vs. Stereo is like Bill Gates in the ring vs. Tyson. I can get bass hits to pull the voltmeter down to 11.6 volts...
2. Paintjob. Not horrible, but not great.
3. Exhaust pipe rubs on rear swaybar. Annoying, nothing else.
4. Pass. side CV boot has developed a crack. Dammit.
5. Lock-rod slipping in pass door, power lock goes "click click click". Like having manual locks.
Everything else is gravy.

1) theres a fix on teamdelsol.com ... I think you tighten the bolts and add rubber washers or something.
16) I have one if you want it.

Actually there is a new brand of "ultra-capacitors" out there which are electro-chemical instead of simply holding static-electricity. The problem is that they're way too expensive at the moment because they are a new technology. They can discharge really fast like capacitors but they hold way more energy than convertionnal static capacitors. In essence... they are a cross between a capacitor and a battery. Do a search on the web and look for either "ultra-capacitors", "super-capacitors" or electro-chemical capacitors". Just my 2 cents.

But they still wouldn't help-- the system draw is greater than the alternator's output. That can't be fixed by a battery or a cap-- they'll just put more load on the system.
