I want to be able to retain the track and motor so it will still open.

Thanks for all of the info so far... keep it coming:thumbup:
That would be pretty cool. Let me know if you find anything.

I believe these will help.
Scroll ALL the way to the bottom.

I know its permanent, but the whole purpose of the CF trim is to reduce weight by removing the stock sunroof.

Removing your sunroof is also required by some racing organizations, such as NASA who either require your sunroof to be welded/riveted down or replaced by metal/carbon fiber insert.

i'd love the cf look up there.... i'd prefer it still functional though... turn into a sunroof instead of a moonroof ()

im not sure, but arent the 92-96 prelude sunroof/moonroofs(?) kind of what your talking about in a way? not so much the fact of making it lighter, but having it be a piece of material thats still functional but not glass?

:werd: Something like that but not riveted in. Obviously the lightest option would be to remove all of the sun roof (track, motor, glass, etc.) but the glass really is the heaviest of it all so I'd like to get rid of that but keep it functional by keeping the track and motor.

For just removing the glass, probably about 20 lbs. The CF kit shown in this thread saves you 26 lbs if everything is removed and replaced with the CF filler.
