Default d16y8: 225-250 whp

Was going to get a crvtec swap but i'm thinking of just getting a turbo kit formy d16y8. I'm aiming for about 225-250 whp. I know that the edelbrock kit makes 176 whp running at 7 psi on stock internals. I want to get that kit and run a little more boost (rebuilt internals ofcourse). Do you guys think i can squeeze out 225-250 whp out of a d16y8 or is that too ambitious. Just a question...

finely tuned, the d16 can hold a lot...but again, its all on how you care for it and tune it.

so it's not unrealistic over a period of time with a moderate budget. good!

you might wanna talk to jkan2001. He hangs out here and the race forum. He's got a d16 turbo'd, not in the 200's, but I'm sure he could provide some useful input. I don't know specifics so I may be off, but its worth a shot.

If u build the motor from the bottom up, turbo, and run it off the bottle its possible.

the new Greddy 19t turbo kit is supposedly good for 300 whp.

If you plan on going any higher than 8lbs, I would STRONGLY recoomend getting ARP head studs. I was having problems with my head lifting at 8lbs with stock head bolts. With aftermarket rods, pistons, head studs, and a few other goodies, you should be able to run 12lbs no problem and have it reliable with some tuning.
