update on car. - back from mechanic
ok so i finally took my car 93 civic sedan manual, in, it was pinging bad even on 94 octane. i'd already asked you guys what it could be, tried a bunch of stuff, couldn't figure it out.
also got my timing belt and water pump replaced. changed tranny oil.
now car is fine even on 87 octane! woohoo! money savings!
it turns out that the timing was too far advanced (but my friend and i checked it before :dunno
and they just reset it to factory specs
the only thing is that now, and even the mechanic says so. is that theres a lag.
so when i drove my car home today, i noticed it. in first gear, when you kinda step on it. it lags under 1500 rpm? then it kicks in fine.
so my question is what causes the lag, and how can i fix it? thanks guys

the lag is caused by the retarded timing(well after its been advanced and put back to oem spec) advanced timing will pick up a little faster on the low end but slow a little on the top end.
