JDM or not????
I bought a 99 SI and the check engine light came on. When I took it to Honda they said I needed a oil pump because my motor was a JDM. The engine has b16a with no number after the a so they said its not american made. Had anyone had the problem with the oil pump on a JDM??

jdm motors usually lack an oil pressure switch (located by the distributor, by the vtec solenoid.) do u live in canada? if u dont, u got jacked. someone replaced ur stock motor with a jdm one. weird.
If it was usdm it would say b16a2. The motor you have is probably an early 90's jdm crx or integra motor. I think you can tell by the number below the b16a.
its not a matter of JDM or USDM that makes the difference. i suppose they used the same factory pump manufacture...
its probably from wear and tear due to aging since it could be an older motor
