What could be causes of check engine light staying on?

its difficult to give you definite causes without checking what code its giving first.

what do you mean code? like on a manual? i have an bigger air intake thats it.. I already tryed to fix it by removing passenger kick panel and touching wires and making check engine light blink 5 times.. it came off then as soon as i turned on vehicle it came rigth back on.. what do you think that is?

thats exactly what everyone is referring to...

the sequence of blinking represents an error code. if you say it blinks 5 times then shuts off for a bit and repeats the same blinking pattern, then that 5 times represents what sensor is not working properly.

go to the c-speed racing site someone recommended and see what that code represents.

triggering the light to blink is a way to diagnosis your problem, not to fix it.

make sure your sensors are all plugged in...and cleaned for that matter..then reset your ecu by unplugging the neg terminal from battery.....let sit for 20, plug in again, punch in stereo code, and start the car, see what happens..if it's off, let the car idle for 10-15 mins..if on, do what they said
