Default Info through engine code

Through the engine code, is there a way to know what the engine is for sure.

I got an engine and was told it's a JDM type R engine directly from Japan.

I have the engine code, of B18C stamped on the motor.

This is the motor, any info would be appreciated

b18c could also mean it is a jdm gsr (sir) swap. The easiest way to tell is to look at the intake manifold.

This is a pic of the engine, what do you think?

Btw, this is going into a 1997 civic 4 door. The outside of the car looks bone stock so my thinking is that i'll have a sleeper setup which should be rather fun to say the least :naughty:

That's so low I'd be a bit concerned about owning a stolen motor. :uhhok:

Reason for the low price is because there was a mixup in my order, i had ordered a GSR engine and the guy sold it. I kinda got to "discussing" the problem and he ended up giving me a type R that i saw arrive the same day for the price of the GSR :naughty:

As for stollen, i was woried about that too so i did some research through a budy i have that works for a honda dealer near here. Got info though the engine code from him and as far as he can tell it does come from japan and is not stollen

It came with everything since that was the kit i had ordered, he just changed it over to the type r kit instead of a GSR kit. Was a "good customer relations" kinda thing

About the 2 posts, not sure how that happened???
