H22 Swap Questions
A friend of a friend said he would sell me his H22(still in his (running) Prelude, totaled from rear end collision) for 1700 bucks...
He said I can have to whole car if I wanted, which means i can use everything (engine/tranny/ecu/etc)
I know to mount this motor into a 98 dx you need a mount kit. He said I could get one for $600(is that right?)
Also he said I would need axels and shift linkage. All of this together he estimated to about 1600 (plus the cost of the motor)
Does this sound like a good deal? I am calling him tomorrow to talk to him, mabye get the price lowered, and ask if he could help with the install (i dont have much as far as tools) So it would be nice to know what I should ask about, or any info on exactly what axels/shift linkage I need...thanks guys.

get higher spring rates for the front, Ground Controls has a special set for this swap, and you can also get custom rates springs for their sleeves.
also a rear sway bar is helpful, and if you do little things to get the suspension dialed in like you want it, like corner weighting and such... definately get some a good shocks and some ground controls, and you won't have a problem

sounds like a really good deal. Plus you can make some money parting out whats left of the prelude. That alone should cover the cost of the bolt-in kit (HASport has everything you'll need).
As far as handling... you can make it handle pretty decent with some wise suspension tuning. As long as youre not a serious autocrosser or just really anal about handling, should be no problem at all.
