dubs- i would nt worry to much about being robbed speed by weight, correct me if im wrong, but the prelude weighs close to the weight of your civic. but like everyone before me said, i would just get stiffer springs up front to even out your ride. i would deffinitly do it, thats a free prelude motor! and depending on the mileage, even if you didnt want it, u could sell it to some one on the forum or ebay for a nice chunk of change and have money to get into other things like a turbo, new wheels, etc., if u already havent done that. well, thats just my .02 on the thread, good luck man.

a prelude weighs a lot more than a civic.

The H series will be close to 200lbs more than your D series. Thats a lot of weight, but considering the H22As output, it will still haul plenty ass. If you're not serious about road racing or autocross, you should be OK with the handling. Just call up ground control and tell them your setup, and they'll help you decide on the proper spring rates for your car. Aside from that, good shocks and sways should be all you need for a decent handling car. It wont handle as well as a well sorted B or D series car, but it can handle pretty well if done right. Tuning is key.

I don't think I am going to do it. I think I am going to stick with my b16/turbo set-up, I dont wanna loose the fun of being aggressive around corners, I love the way my car handles, I dont wanna loose that....

WAIT A MINUTE!!!!

200 lbs more than my d-series? So it would be like having one of my friends sitting on the front of my car?

How could that possibly affect handling that much....I have friends in the car all the time....

Im so fickle...

*edit* couldn't i make up for that 200 lbs with say...lighter control arms, lighter wheels, lighter.....anything?

Buy it.... Buy it... BUY IT!!! Did I make my point clear?:chuckles:

Listen to someone that has done it and loves every bit of it.

1st - I'm not sure for your car but Hasport could confirm... but on my 5G Coupe I used an 90-93 Accord half shaft and 90-93 Integra axles.

2nd - there is NO shift linkage with an H22!!! It operates by cables which you will just take out of your donor vehicle along with the shifter.... check the link in my sig and go to photo album to get an idea (real simple)

3rd - Do not listen to all this talk about weight and understeer... I drove on stock suspension for a couple months and it was fine. I've since put some Progress Auto springs on which are made specifically for the H22 in a Civic and it handles great. All I have besides the springs are Tokico Blues and a GSR rear sway bar.... I plan to do much more but it's fine for now.

Finally - the H22 is only like 80 lbs heavier than a B-series. After doing some weight management the difference is hardly earth shattering. I put my battery in the trunk (also on my site) to distribute some weight. I plan on getting a CF hood, lighter wheels, etc. With the power that this motor produces the weight is a null issue.... It would be like having a small child in your front seat.

I'm a pretty modest driver and keep to myself for the most part but I always get these guys with their RSX's, GSR's, SI's, Eclipse GSr's, etc. that want to pick on my poor little civic with black steelies and stock exhaust.... let me just say it's great to see the look on their face when I drop WOT and pound them with my poor little civic.

Parts that you'll have to buy:
- Mounts
- Harness unless you do it yourself
- FAL Thin Fan

That's pretty much it... with these three things this is a straight bolt in swap like any other.

That is such a farce... It's only like 180lbs heavier than a D (what isn't heavier than a D, that's such a light ass tiny motor) and only like 80lbs heavier than a B... after some weight management as I said before, this is such a null issue... it's like having a very small child in your front seat because it's not safe for children to ride on your hood:chuckles:
