Default ~Clutch Problems~

So when I got my car a few months ago, I noticed a slight noise ocasionaly when starting out in first gear. A whining, grinding type of a squeal. But it shifted fine and drove great. Yesterday I drove my car quite allot, and everything was normal. My clutch was never perfect, but still pretty good. Didn't have much freepaly. Today I go to drive it, and it's like, total freeplay. the clutch does nothing when I push it in until the very end, maybe the last 2 inches. It still shifts and drives, but what happened? What should I look to fix first? Could I just adjust the clutch cable somehow? Why would it all of the sudden develope total freeplay in the pedal? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Dan

Default 94 civic

It's a 94 civic EX, 133,000 miles. The fluid was low so I filled it, but no change. So could I just buy a $150-$200 clutch kit? Would that most likely fix it? How hard is that repair....

It could be the pressure plate, or you might just need to bleed the line. did you see any wety spots under the hood, of on the ground?>

Maybe the throw out bearing going bad? Just get a new clutch and see what happens.

Try bleeding the clutch before you buy anything. My reservoir went dry without any signs of leakage.
I bought an ACT street clutch, then found out that i only needed to bleed the system.
Not that i'm bitching, but i could have saved 250 bucks for at least another 30k, but i love the new clutch
