The shift kinkage out of a B16a3 sol will not work in a 5g civic because it is to short. h:

 

wait, so u used a 5th gen civic d-series linkage in your sol (since there is no 5th gen b-series linkage)? wierd. never heard of anyone doing that successfully

 

I used 5th gen D series linkage on a d sereies motor in my sol. So, it obviously is the same length. Then, why would you not be able to use the sol vtec linkage in a 5th gen when it fits a sol?

 

maybe the b-series sol linkage is diff? i've always heard that the sol b-series linkage wont work in anyother car, and the 94+ teg/ 99-00 si linkage wont work in a sol

 

the del sol linkage does not work in the 5th gen's with a b swap. I made the mistake of ordering it with the thought in mind that it had the b series and so did mine now. It ended up being just a little too short.

 

Damn, so the D series works, and the B series doesn't. Learn something new every day!

 

I know this is just extra information but the 97 Del Sol VTEC B series linkage is about 2 inches longer than the 99-00 Civic Si or 94+ integra B series linkages. When I swapped the B16A2 into my 6th gen civic I had to cut 2 inches out of the Del Sol VTEC linkages in order for them to fit my car.
Conclusion: Del Sol VTEC B series linkages are 2 inches longer than other B series linkages.
