cai's don't really make any more hp. any hp to be gained from removing the stock filter would be from a freer flowing filter. a K&N filter in your stock airbox would probably net you the same hp gains, if any.

there really is no gain from getting cai than a short ram.

it's hard to comprehend cause we've all spent $250+ on the intake and filter, it don't do shit. it is the truth, let's just accept it.
werd.. that was my point exactly... MAYBE.. key word.. MAYBE. i could have been SLIGHTLY more civil about expresing it

AND a short intake..

the point is whats the MOST you could hope to gain with YOUR CAI over stock??? now how much would you lose making it short ram.. now is that worth sucking up a puddle? maybe to you it is.. but to me.. 3 hp.. OR 5 ft lbs of torque.. is NOT

insert where you tell me now that your ECONOBOX CIVIC is a TORQUE monster due to your CAI... and i will just laugh at you more...
hahaha, i got you mad over the internet . wow nitrous, you are hella cool. anyone could just slap on some nitrous and say their car is fast you are stupid, you really think a j's racing intake is CAI? cause thats what i have. so stop assuming things. dont get mad at me because you are stupid, you said you didnt understand CAI so i had to explain it to you. i already know intakes dont do a lot as far as power goes, i was just saying that CAI is more efficient. BTW i live in seattle so i would never get a CAI cause it rains so much. if i lived somewhere in a warmer climate than i would consider it. check this out heres some info, like i said, intakes dont give you a big power boost but it helps

wow, this is so gay, its not even funny.

ok, on my car, STOCK, I have the equivilent to a short ram air intake. See how the air is sucked in where the circle is?

u see that bix black box there? thats part of the intake too. what makes an aftermarket intake different is that the tubing is larger and the filter probly lets more air in. so no you dont have an equivilent to a short ram intake.

dude, you're an idiot. I think I know how MY air intake works.

see that box? there's no inlet for air to suck in. See that part thats circled? thats the only place where air comes in.

so I DO have the equivilent to a short ram intake in the sense that they both take in air from the same area.

dumbshit.

no.. actualy i said i dont understand the point of it in a car where it makes little to no differance...

then why would you buy one of the single most over priced intakes available..

the differance is minimal to nothing

i dont use ADS where people are SELLING something and print dyno sheets in TINY font... i hardly would consider that a valid reference point

Nitrous might be cold to the touch but thats not what makes it work. As it burns it creates O2 at which makes a hotter fire. More power. A 12.5 increase in torque on my little 1.5 is not much, but i use it for autox. In the powerband that i have and the altitude i'm at, it works for me. Was not saying its huge or anything like that, but thats my benifit.
