d16z6 turbo sleeve and cam questions
So the old question goes which cam is better: Crower (stg2 fi/na)or Comp/Zex 59300 cam for this application.
My build is going well JE 9:1, Cunningham/Aem Hyper Rods, SS Valves, Ti Springs/Ret, AEM pulleys cam gear, super60 turbo, large intercooler 2" piping, JG throttle body, port-matched intake manifold, injectors, etc etc etc......(I still have not spent more than 3K$ so my goal to have 180+hp [cheaper than GSR] is met)
So, I only have a few steps remaining to push the motor to its max..and that is a nice cam that revs high and lifts good for FI. Crower and Zex appear to be my options [w/o going over budget]
The second being where to get my block sleeved for a decent price and quality (GE or Darton)
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated,
m.

Let's play the numbers game, each from the maker's website:
Crower 63441T
Advertised Duration 260/238
Duration @ .050" 222/200
"Gross Lift" .430/.428
Zex/ Comp Cams 59300
Advertised Duration 260/268
Duration @ .050" 220/216
"Max Lift" .455/.430
By the numbers, the Zex is a more aggressive cam.

much understood: but does anyone happen to have numbers with zex over 9K rpm? [Kind of more of my question] The lift is not ridiculous so I would assume the crower valve springs/ret should hold...but how durable [eibach I believe makes crowers springs...mmm eibach] are they?
The last thing I would like to do is break a spring and eat a valve. :P
