2 inches will put some strain on the stock shocks. I rode on stock shocks for 2 years while lowered 1.75F, 1.5R, no problems. Shocks held up fine. But I've heard other stories of them blowing out prematurely.
And to answer your original question, yes, the stock shocks have rubber bump stops that will prohibit full travel of the shocks. Some people trim them, I never did. H&R recommends not trimming the bumpstop with their Sport springs on our cars.
