Just 'cause it has more 'capacity', it might be an empty can. Are you talking about how many ml of oil is held by the filter, or actually how much filter media is actually in there?
yea, i'm worried about the bypass valve pressure of oversized filters too. Mobil 1 M-104 is the size recommended, M-105 will fit, same o-ring gasket size, but a considerably larger filter. I don't know about the bypass specs thou..
anyone know the OEM spec for bypass valve pressure (oil that is)????
I use hastings filters (or balwdwin as they are supposed to be exactly the same), but... they list 20psi bypass for LF-402 for 94-96 accords which I use now, but oddly a larger diameter filter w/ 14psi bypass for 97 accords and 97-99 CL's. I'd like to know if there was a diff OEM spec... and if it would be safe to use the larger filter.
