what are you expecting out of the intake? i ask you this because i used to have an aem cai and have reverted back to the stock air box.

for one, there is a chance - albeit minor in southern california - of hydrolock (sucking of water into the motor) if there is rain. i was paranoid about this *everytime* it rained and it was not worth it to me. second, you will notice a loss of throttle response in the low end of the rpm range. however, when vtec is engaged/engaging, the gain it slightly noticable.

if you are doing mostly daily driving, then the stock airbox is much better. however, if your r sees a lot of track time, the aem is great.

the veterans over at honda-tech.com seemed to have at one point in time owned a cai and have pretty much gone back to their stock air boxes because of these reasons.

having said all of this, do as you choose ...the aem cai is a great intake; depending on your goal(s).

good luck!
