the whistling noise is perfectly normal. i've experienced this as well as others who own or have owned the aem cai.

 

Check on Import Tuner's Mag. They did a comparison on CAI's and short rams using an RSX. AEM CAI ended up w/ the most gains at +20hp at the wheels. Short ram AEM was listed as +4 hp. Go w/ AEM CAI. Don't get the bypass. My bypass has broken into two pieces, allowing the air under the hood to leak in unfiltered.

Go w/ CAI and avoid water puddles or risk vapor lock ===> new engine.
