Yeah I agree.
Over at s2ki.com, Doug Hayashi (the guy at NSX files with the f355, supercharged NSX and s2) beat a lot of modified s2's with his near stock s2.
He only had intake, straight pipe exhaust and hoosiers. Best mod is to improve your own driving skills.
If I had an s2 I wouldn't heavily modify it either until I could take the car to it's limits.
