:werd: you don't have to have a gun safe, but you are required by law to purchase a gun lock, and when you purchase a new gun, you have to demonstrate that you know how to check for a round, open the slide, drop the magazine and lock the gun with the lock you buy.

and the test you take is a fucking joke... one question was:

The safest direction to point a handgun is:
A. North
B. Left
C. Down
D. The safest possible direction that an accidental discharge won't cause bodily harm or propert damage
