the purpose of a short throw is not the length of the shifter itself but the distance from the ball in the shifter to the bottom which is actually longer on a short throw. the longer this part is the shorter the throw so the civic short shifter may be longer than the stock delsol one but as long as the bottom part is longer you still have a short throw in your del sol
