I think the 2000 was the year the coupe got the facelift treatment---with the different grille, wheels, lower front bumper, rear valance, different factory side sills, etc...but if the 2000 model did not receive the facelift, and it began in 2001, then the 2000 model may be accepting the 98-99 OEM kit....and thats what you may be seeing when you say you see "2001" or "2002" models....
