People will notice. Especially when you take a turn and your inside wheel is not spinning, plus when changing your tires/torqueing your bolts down the wheels will turn in opposite directions (if I remember right).
Plus it's not sportsman like to cheat. If you have to cheat to win then you shouldn't be competing.
But yes an LSD is worth it if you know how to drive it. Too many people think they know how to drive a FWD LSD car and they don't.
But if you are in lets say STS and you add an LSD you would be in STX which is against turboed, AWD cars with big brakes, racing seats, and motor mounts.
