also keep in mind that those generic filters metal mesh filters are crap and probably don't filter well or hold up to. the special aem filters or K&N filters are of higher quality.

like mentioned before, fit, finish, mounting brackets, misc hose and clamps, and instructions are usually what generic stuff lacks.

i do agree you are paying a premium cause it says AEM, but it's still a higher quality unit. i mean seriuosly you paid more for a honda to get better quality, style, and the name not cause your 145hp motor was so much faster than it's competition, what's wrong with buying an intake for quality,name and looks.
