Fellow owners such as yourself can make logical (well, at times---lets not push it here) suggestions and what not, and it is appreciated...let me tell you something else....Im not going to do EVERYTHING you suggested and then hate you for it; thats not gonna happen. I just wanted some thoughts and opinions, thats all....I will probably leave 90% of the vehicle alone, just for anti-rice sediments, and you will not be blamed for any of it....does that let you sleep a bit easier during the nice, semi-cool evenings?
This is why people are get up in your face man:
Youre whining at this point about how much your car sucks (which it may or may not). Did you really not notice its blandness when you bought it and optioned it up at the dealer?
I am a big fan of American cars in terms of their bang for the buck, but I don't think I'd ever own one short of an XLR (maybe), just because they really tend to be uglier and have hideous interiors. You compare your car to a 285 hp venerable S/C'd 3800 pushrod??? Of course your fuel efficient N/A 200 hp V6 honda is going to pale in performance comparison, but you seem more intent on making your car look good than perform well.
You are constantly on the defensive. I actually liked you when you first started asking about your car, and was really into helping out a fellow LI'er. I still want to help you out.
You are lashing out at all the ghetto superstars, but at the same time you seem to want to be one. People with no money (like myself) have to learn to content themselves with dreaming about hooking up their cars, instead of plotting how to do so. You have had the sense to realize there are "ghetto" styles to hooking up a car, but you only lambast them for using styles that you want to use on "lesser" cars like old Legends and ES250/300's. Is the style "ghetto" or are the cars "ghetto"? I think since you like the styles that youre implying that the cars themselves are ghetto. That is not possible. These were fine luxury cars in their day and some people appreciate that over a new boring car (think 6gen V6coupe) and others just can't afford anything better, and others want to be ghetto fabulous and pretend they are superstars although they aren't.
You go on and on about how slow your car is, but then have dumped massive subs in the trunk, you want to put heavy ass chrome wheels (in fact you insist on them ) (easily 30+lbs w/o tires)...Yet you have no desire to make the car handle better
which in my opinion should always be priority #1, because its safer and more fun to drive a good handling slow car than just a rocket sled. You also don't seem to believe that maybe some money directed at maintainance would help what's wrong with your car.
It is your money and you should do what you want with it. Just realize no matter what you do, it will be slow, it will look old and with the mods you plan, it will be an old car with tons of money that still doesn't make you happy.
I repeat sell your car for $12 grand and buy a used luxury car....this is what you have repeatedly dreamed that your car was in your previous posts....
Why didn't I post this before. Because at the time I felt AF had addressed your points well. So no need for redundancy. I am tired of you repeatedly asking the same question in hopes that someone out there will eventually validate your dreams and opinions. It's not likely. most of the gang here is into performance and then show...
BTW Despite the fact that I'm a physician in training, my present car is a used accord and my next car will be an even older used vehicle likely BMW or Jag, and it will likely be thoroughly hooked up for performance and looks. Does that make me "ghetto"?
Was that intelligent enough for you?
