Exhaust is also the gases being exspelled from the engine. Hot gas exiting the engine flows through the exhaust manifold (header), through the catalitic converter, and then exits out the muffler. The faster the flow of the exhaust gases the better performance you will get out of you engine. Bigger piping doesnt neccessarily mean faster flow so deciding the right size exhaust for your engine is very important. :fawk:
