He is right as well...I believe KYB recommends using their shocks with <1.5" drop and wont warranty them otherwise. Not a big deal, I dont really know how they come up with that arbitrary # anyway, since I would imagine it differs from car to car.
Same with the illumina's. The have a liftime warranty only if dropped less than 1.5" and you use the dust covers. I don't really know how they would know how far of a drop you have on your car though. I used to have a set of sprint coilover's. Illumina's with my coilovers made for about the worst setup imaginable.
