You dont need a shop.

The rear bearings are integrated into the hub. Its a hub/bearing unit that can easily be replaced. Its very simple, and shouldnt pose a problem at all as long as you have decent tools. Definitely go at it yourself.

A new hub can be found for next to nothing from a wrecked car...try and find one thats being parted out and you should get it for $20 or so.
