A car is faster on an autocross course with stock springs and good shocks then aftermarket springs and worn shocks. Ride better too. Now that my car has adjustable struts, I can't imagine not having them. Some of the self adjusting shocks are good though, the Edelbrock IAS race-spec was fantastic for my old autocross/street car. I put KYB AGX's on my car, but I wonder if I should have done the Koni's, though a Honda Civic racer friend loves the Tokico adjustables. I don't regret the KYB's, they're good, and they do what I need, so I'm not complaing, but don't ignore the importancve of great shocks.
