honda trannies are $$$ to rebuild and i called aamco and another local tranny shop for prices. i'm sure prices vary by region though.
-anyways $650 for a tranny+ $700 for labor seems too high especially the tranny. that tranny is worth no more than say $400. i would try looking for the tranny yourself, cause the shop must be marking that up.
