dude,.. first of all does it have 'fisheyes",..term used when you see like tiney pitted or big pitted holes on the clearcoat. To get the best finish possible,... use:

1500,... then 2000,... finally 2500

1500 to get "fisheyes" out ( at times you might need 1000 cause
of how deep pitted the f/e are)
2000 to smooth out the 1500 and "trash" ( "trash" term for shit
thats in the air dust,
etc.)
2500 to complete the sweet ass finish...

use 3m compound and polish,.. then
use 3m micro then to finish with 3m hand glaze.

these are the steps that I use to get the best finish on paint jobs.. I have my own body and motorswap shop
