another thing you can do is get a shorter shift knob.
like one of those cheap ball type ones. that should make it about .5~1 inch shorter.
at least that works on my car, it reduces the lever by 1.5inches
My Razo knob sits about 2" shorter than my stock GS-R knob, and the short shifter is the same height as stock inside the cabin.
