"They" are confident that Saddam was one of those people carried out on a stretcher and into an ambulance. As of now, no one is sure whether he is dead or not.
Yep. I heard that too. It is claimed that one of his sons, the oldest one, has defected to Jordan. But like you said, nobody knows. Hopefully something will come up soon which will let us know for sure if he's dead or alive. The closer we get to Baghdad, the more nervous I get.
