Check your v-tec solenoid. It is right behined the left rear corner of you valve cover. The solenoid is what makes v-tec work. Also see if the temp guage is working, if the temp sending unit has gone bad the car will think it is cold, v-tec will not open and the car will rev limit around 6,500 rpm.
