It would not be cost effective to use two different types of paints for a color. I'm sure BMW, MB and others do it...but certainly not on a $20,000 Honda.
It's funny our 01 silver civic ex's bumpers were a very good match no problem at all, it just seems to be a really poor match on the accord especially in white. You may be right about other cars MB BMW etc as they match quite well. I've even seen fords in white with an almost perfect match...it's sad that honda didn't do it right. We saw a new 03 accord coupe in white at the dealer and the bumpers matched quite well
