The alternator comes out the top I believe. I've tried to get it out the bottom, but I can't get it out without taking out the alt bracket. I tried to do that, but I can't even get a wrench around its bolts. I've got some vice grips and i'm ready to take off my hood, sit on the windshield, and kickthe wrench as hard as I can. I mean that bolt just won't break loose. I am really running low on options. I sprayed the bolt down with a WD40 like compound. I hope that helps.
