Bummer. I've always gotten to those bolts with a short socket, if memory serves the lower bolt and the bracket bolt are 14mm and the pivot bolt is 12mm.
Once all of the bolts are off, it might need a bit of "persuasion" to get the thing out of there. Usually, the alternator will drop down below the engine. Most things on these Hondas require getting the car on jack stands anyway.
When the car is at the local garage, see if they will let you watch what they do. At least that way you will have learned something from this experience.
