Default HELP! Something blew out in my engine.

Yesterday I was traveling home from school at like 8pm, and like my temp gauge is usually all over the place, nothing ever happened. But all of a sudden the temperature rocketed to the very top of the gauge beyond the "H" for hot! I traveled down the highway for maybe 30sec more like that, then all of a sudden, the car was bogging down, I downshifted to try to accelerate but to no avail. the car just died.

Heres my q, there seemed to be (2) different liquids on the ground belown the engine bay, one looked like oil the other more brown. When I stopped the car smoke was pouring out from the front. There was oil all over the engine bay.

What happened guys? Is this serious? How much is cost going to be? Please I need help so I have an idea before my mechanic might try to BS me.
