There's a VSS/alternator fuse under the dash. Check to see if that fuse is out. If it is, it's an easy fix. If it's not out, then check your VSS. The VSS is a relative large black sensor that is located toward the rear of the tranny, on the top. Its base is kind of triangular looking, and you should know it when you see it. I believe it's held in by a single 12mm bolt. If you know someone with a B series engine/tranny with a working VSS, borrow it and swap it in and see if it solves the problem.
