I have 17x7 wheels with 40mm offset with 205/40's on my car. I have about a one finger gap in the front, about the same in the back.

When I was on the stock shocks w/o camber correction it used to rub like mad, only got worse when I got a camber kit. It forced me to take corners slower and not throw the car around like I did when it was stock height.

When I got upgraded shocks, Tokico Blues, the rubbing became less of a problem. I'd say if I drove around normally it will not rub. I'm almost 100% sure that if I didn't have the camber kit on the tires would not rub at all.
