I just bought a GS-R last week, and prior to this , I have never driven a vehicle with vtec. From what I understand, you are supposed to hear a distinguishable difference in engine sound when you hit certain rpm levels. Well I don't hear any difference ! When I bring it up to 7000 rpm, for example, the car goes extremely fast, but all I hear is the normal rise of rpms; nothing that would lead me to believe that the vtec is engaging. Am I missing something ? Is the sound supposed to be noticeable ? What could be wrong ?? (By the way, my car has 143,000 miles).
