But yeah, what these guys said. If I'm not mistaken the type-R doesn't have this 2-stage "vtec engagement", so it pulls much harder at the crossover point.

Wow, I hate to point it out, but you spelled VTEC as vtech...whats up with that?? We all make mistakes.
Anyways yes that is true, type-R's do not have dual engagement, but you can acheive this same thing on a GSR by getting a skunk2 intake manifold. Only thing is that your check engine light will then stay on forever. I have this and it annoys me.
