The scam of ebay
I'm not sure if any of you have seen the new scam people are pulling on ebay, but 5 or 6 people are in on it now, and personally i'm pissed off about it. Basically people are offereing performance chips for our honda's that "gain up to 20hp" but yet the cost is below 10 bucks. I went ahead and purchased one to check it out to see what it was all about it, and what I got was a 5 ohm resistor that bypasses your intake air temp sensor by jumping the two wires together with the resistor. All it did was set a check engine light in my car. Others claim sucsess with theirs, but everyone I talk to got a different resistence resistor than I did. Mine was 5 ohms the person that claimed his worked got a 13,000 ohm and a 3,000 ohm one. Now i've checked a 2,000 ohm resistor and it drops the voltage to basically nothing in other words making telling the computer to back down fuel and back down the timing, i could be backwards on this. Anyway I've reported this to ebay they don't care but people have been getting ripped off for 30 bucks on these 50 cent resistors that do nothing but set a check engine light or hurt your car's performance. Anyway if any of you have reasearched what the intake air temp sensor actual purpose it has I think this could be a good discussion, because obvioulsy there is power to come from the right tricking of this sensor, but what voltage do we need to trick to get it.
