I think the yellow look you got was due to two possible factors:
1) The wiring was at it's limits and could no longer produce the low voltage current needed to produce the desired light
2) The bulb has fingerprints on it
my Accord had
Stanley bulbs for OEM - if there were fingerprints, the glass will shatter within hours of being at that high temperature; found out the hard way
