Cadillac is GM's premium marque. There isn't a single car in thier lineup that resembles anything else GM makes (perhaps they really did learn from the Cimaron fiasco).... For a premium model to be successful, it can't just be a rebadged copy with more bells and wistles to inflate the sticker. It has to have a unique look, feel, and design to be considered premium.
And what about the Cadillac Escalade/Chevy Tahoe/GMC Yukon Denali and Cadillac Escalade EXT/Chevy Avalanche? Sure it doesn't share the same EXACT body panels, but its close enough for me.
Ford does the same thing to its Explorer/Mountainer/Avaitor and Expedition/Navigator. Those all resembles VERY much their lower siblings still is considered premium.
