are u sure your offset is 42? i have a 6th gen also and used to run with 17x7, +40 offset, 225/45/17 and 2 finger gap lowered... the rims were flush with the fenders, they didn't stick out at all.... a lot of 6g owners with 17" are running with 40 or 42 offset and 215 or 225 wide tires and don't have problems with sticking out... i'm curious to see how it sticks out... can you post pics?
