That would have an impact on it learning when you're away automatically unless people walk in front of it. For me, I use the schedule and manual away most of the time. The auto away has kicked in a few times when I forgot to set it to away manually. The motion sensor is also for illuminating the device when you walk up to it, so that would work well for you. I do the majority of the settings from my iPhone/iPad/computer rather than on the actual unit.
